Adrian Hill Fine Art Presents:

Nick Grove RSMA

Biography

Nick Grove RSMA is an award-winning British painter whose practice is rooted in the direct experience of people, places and moments.
Working predominantly in oils and charcoal, working from life is fundamental to his approach.

Each painting begins with, or is inspired by, a first hand encounter, giving his work a distinctive sense of immediacy, atmosphere and lived experience.
His larger studio paintings often develop from smaller works made directly from life. These paintings retain the freshness and authenticity of the original encounter while allowing the subject and idea to evolve on a more ambitious scale.

Nick is a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Society of Marine Artists. His work has been exhibited regularly in London and is held in private collections in the UK and internationally.

Based in Stamford, Nick works both outdoors and in his studio. Grounded in close observation and the traditions of perceptual painting, his work explores the experience of being present—responding directly and honestly to people, places and the changing world around him.
