John’s interest in sculpture began when he discovered he could communicate his thoughts and express his feelings in a way that held his attention and inspired his imagination. Sculpture took him into a world of self-expression and freedom. This discovery led him towards a complete career redirection in his early 30s.

As his passion for art emerged, he decided to attend art school, to deepen his knowledge, develop new techniques and expand his skill set. John trained at ‘The Sculpture Academy’ now known as the ‘Art Academy’ in London. Whilst in the throes of his studies, John gained several interesting commissions which fired his aspirations further. His talents were recognised by two well established sculptresses who at the time were significant in helping John develop his approach to modelling and crafting out a life as a professional working artist.
After leaving the academy John established his own studio in the heart of London. The next couple of years were spent struggling to create his own work. Assisting professional sculptors proved to be a tough but crucial step forwards in funding and facilitating his own projects. It was during these difficult times that John learned many fundamental skills which have contributed hugely towards the success of his own career today.

Over the years John’s work has become increasingly popular and much sought-after. John’s signature style is clear to see with the exaggerated form and sincere emotional study of the lone figure. Key works such as ‘Innerspace’, ‘Beyond Limitations’ and more recently ‘Alchemy of The Heart’ demonstrate his recognisable style.

John has always been fascinated and inspired by the relationship between the human mind, the soul and the essence of nature itself. The human condition, both strengths and weaknesses provide a constant source of inquiry. These ideas have always been the backdrop from which John crafts his art.

John exhibits and sells his work extensively across the UK and internationally and has completed many private and public commissions. Working successfully with private collectors and corporate he has created a portfolio of personal and relevant work within the UK and globally.
